I spent many hours of my childhood watching my grandmother work at her sewing machine, making curtains, bedspreads, and pillow cases for her sons' furniture store. She also crafted eiderdown comforters, which she sewed by hand around a makeshift loom. She is my inspiration for recycling used material into art pieces I like to call sew-paintings.
